Abchasien, ein Land voller Vielfalt und Überraschungen. In dem nur von Russland, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Nauru und Syrien (Stand 2019) anerkanntem Land leben schätzungsweise rund 250.000 Einwohner. Es hat eine Fläche von 8.600 km² und liegt zwischen Russland und Georgien. Außerdem wurde es erst am 23. Juli 1992 gegründet. Auf meiner Reise bin ich meist mit offenen Armen empfangen worden und bekam einen interessanten Eindruck hinter die Kulissen einer Region, mit der man als Europäer nur selten in Kontakt kommt. Die Flora und Fauna des Landes ist mit seinem milden Klima einzigartig und lässt längst vergessene Gebäude in einem besonderen Glanz erstrahlen.
Abkhazia is a country full of diversity and surprises. An estimated 250,000 inhabitants live in this country, which is only recognized by Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Nauru, and Syria (as of 2019). It has an area of 8,600 km² and is located between Russia and Georgia. It wasn’t established until July 23, 1992. During my trip, I was usually welcomed with open arms and got a fascinating impression of behind the scenes of a region that Europeans rarely come into contact with. The flora and fauna of the country are unique with its mild climate and lets long-forgotten buildings shine in an exceptional glow.
